The development of Mount Road continues, with the road now being closed off and a diversion put in place around Vine Bank Road. This has been in many peoples experiences a very painful and slow experience as the parked cars on both sides of the road are making this unsuitable. When the plans were placed in the Sentinel it clearly said that the Police would prevent people from parking on this road - what has happened to this we may ask? |

It is comming up to that time of the year when we get asked to cast our vote at local elections. This year it is the Newcastle Borough elections, so these are the people who meet in Newcastle and decide how your money is spent over the whole Borough. These people control street cleaning, parks, gardens etc - however not the highways which is a Staffordshire County Council job. Mount Road Pot Holes Fixed |

Following action from Cllr Mary Maxfield it appears that the series of pot holes which had been annoying many regular drivers from Whitehill to Kidsgrove have now been fixed. It was noted that the smaller holes had been filled the other day, however Cllr Maxfield told our forum boards that she was going to visit the site manager to get this matter sorted - clearly it has been. You can report any problems with your roads and street lights using the Clarence system, the link and phone number can be found at the bottom of this article. We would advise calling the service as following an investigation by Whitehill Online we have found that many roads in Kidsgrove are not listed on the system. We have contacted Staffordshire County Council, who provided the following response; |
