Viva Espania For Councilor Bentley?Where is Councilor Martin Bentley? That the exact question which many residents have been asking for the last few years. It now appears that Whitehill Online can reveal all on this matter and it doesn't make good reading. Your Local Councilor?Whitehill Online has been informed that Councilor Bentley has now left the Kidsgrove area - to live in Spain. It does also appear that Councilor Bentley does intend to remain a Newcastle Council member as he informed the Legal Officer that he would be away for 2 months. His address and phone number are both now unobtainable and residents and Councilors are now asking where his is? Cllr Bentley will still be able to claim his Council allowance of about £260 per month up until November - as he has to attend this meeting to remain a Councilor. He has however not been seen or heard of since the 23rd of May. All of his Council matters appear to have been passed to Councilor Margaret Astle, however is this right that she is covering up an issue which should be made aware to the general public, who did elect him? Why Espania?This is a good question and one which appears to be surrounded some what with mystery. Friends of Cllr Bentley claim that he has sold his house and moved to Spain to live the reset of his life out there. It is now however being reported by the local press that Cllr Bentley is in fact in Spain to look after his ill mother - if this is the case then I think it is fair to suggest that his disappearance is acceptable. What ever the reason behind the move, surly Cllr Bentley should have informed the council? How are the people of Kidsgrove who elected him going to be represented? These are all questions which we are sure will be answered in time, which rest assured we will keep you informed on.
