Whitehill Post Office Has Now Closed
The news that the Post Office was to close came as a shock, however when you look closely at the changes that the Government made to the payments of benefits direct into bank accounts, this starved the Post Office of vital revenue. With the changing buying habits of the consumer, now looking to purchase everything from one place it is a great shame that the independent retailer is finding much harder to compete. If we are to stop the decline in independent retailing then it is up to us all to look to purchase goods from the local businesses that ensure our communities continue to grow! was a very sad day last Monday when Whitehill Post Office closed.
