Your Vote - Thursday 10th June 2004
Whitehill Online has decided that for the next few days in the run up to the elections we will run this feature looking at what "your vote" really means. There is no doubt that people perceive that they have no control in what happens in modern day Britain - how wrong they are. The local elections this time see 3 candidates standing in the Kidsgrove ward, now these people are here to represent YOU the local people. I your not happy with what currently happens in the local area – use your vote to suggest that you want change, this is the only way that you can affect what happens in the local area. The European Elections are a different area all together, and in all honesty I don’t really know what they represent and what the politicians actually do at a local area like ours. I would hazard a guess that the improvements to the Loop Line came about via this channel as it was funded by Advantage West Midlands – an EU backed fund. It would sometimes be nice to get some information regarding what each candidate really represents, however the normally does not seem to be the case. We need to remember that our 1 vote can make the difference and on Thursday 10th June 2004 we should all take a few minutes out of our busy lives to cast our vote.
